LOUGH LEANNE

SWEENEYS SHORE

We have started many a fishing trip from Sweeneys shore and also from Ross castle,fished such place names as "THE METAL MAN","THE BOG" VICTORIA BAY,"THE HERON STONES" etc...,Along the golf links and even up to the mouth of the Flesk and around many islands of LOUGH LEANNE too numerous to mention and still I find new names and places where I have not fished yet.That is the beauty of fishing Killarney you have so much area to fish and not enough time to do so.

The most succesful areas where I have caught trout are (1) "THE BOG" which is great in high water especially with the wind blowing into Ross castle.(2) Sweeneys shore up to "THE METAL MAN" and from "THE METAL MAN"up to O'CONNELL HOUSE.(3) "THE HERON STONES"in and around these large boulders and reefs.(4) Victoria bay and parallel to the golf course.
